Looking for a morning coffee, a casual lunch or a gourmet dinner? The modern restaurant The Y has it all! It is a new 6,000-square-foot eatery in Moscow featuring a first floor with two open kitchens and 200 seats divided between a casual dining area and coffee shop and formal areas up above—is a textbook example of that generation’s preferred flavor.
Blending 70s vibe with the Millennials trends resulted in sophisticated yet easy-going modern restaurant project. The designers of this inspiring restaurant were the Asthetique – international award winning design company. When creating The Y, their focus was on the details, which made the place feel unique, luxurious and modern. Arched forms, soft colors and Art Deco elegance will make you feel nostalgic and special when dining in this place.
The restaurant was developed as a relaxed refuge from the hustle and bustle of contemporary Moscow, as stage set of suave elegance and old-time charm. The restaurant decor was inspired by American film director Wes Anderson, reflecting his distinct visual language for aesthetic and narrative purposes. The Y’s décor is characterised by a dreamy colour palette of pastels, the eclectic modern furniture featuring materials such as brass, velvet and polished timber that convey luxury and sophistication.
In the first-floor dining area, custom brass sconces have been hung over custom oak tables and grey-teal chairs. In turn a white marble countertop with a brass sheet metal face is the detail that defines the open kitchen’s bar, featuring a brass and fluted glass overhang.
Near the entrance, an intimate modern cafe features a custom marble-topped oak counter with a column covered in Midas’s liquid brass and chairs.
The restaurant also has a small elegant custom-designed private dining room the hidden playroom accessed through a secret door.
The bathroom on the second floor features a perforated metal and concrete cabinet with custom bronze mirrors and faucets. The walls of the bathroom on the first floor are oak or stainless steel, the latter with a gradated polish from opaque to mirror.
