The hotel interior design has efficient rooms, part of the brand’s ethos, boast upgraded finishes and details, including mood lighting and custom bath fixtures.

The brand new hotel interior design of Hyatt House Jersey City creates an exciting destination with spectacular views of Manhattan in Jersey City’s increasingly popular waterfront downtown area. The ground floor highlights the building’s impressive historic features, including original 12-foot-tall ornate bronze doors, a brass filigree decorative screen Portoro marble walls and travertine flooring.

Visitors then ascend directly up to the upper floor Terrace Level, where they are met with 12-foot high ceiling and views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline through the wrap-around, floor-to-ceiling windows. Connected to the Terrace Level is a rooftop lounge, one of the only in Jersey City.

The hotel is built within seven historic warehouses that stand distinct on the outside but have been internally conjoined to create the luxury accommodations with a 2000 square-foot open-air interior courtyard.

Inspired by the beauty of each historic building, the hotel interior design intended to reference each of its original occupants: The Daily Picayune newspaper, as well as Gulf Baking Soda company, Peters Cartridge shop, and Peychaud Bitters factory.

Stonehill Taylor completed the conversion of a historic 1920’s building into a new boutique hotel, Holston House. Throughout the interior design of the 191 rooms and public spaces, the interior design firm preserved many of the historic elements and layered a design concept informed by Nashville’s famous music industry and flair.

Hotel interior design pulled from diverse, Nashville-based inspirations, such as the leather goods of 20th-century Italian-born designer Peter Nappi. This ambition manifested itself in such design touches as classic overdyed rugs, leather accents, and wood features.

Stonehill Taylor is the exclusive interior designer for the 512 rooms, housed in the two newly built wings with hotel interior design by architects Beyer Blinder Belle and Lubrano Ciavarra, flanking Eero Saarinen’s iconic TWA Flight Center. Stonehill Taylor was inspired by the year 1962 — it’s the year the Flight Center opened and the first time an American was able to orbit the Earth.

The hotel interior design by Stonehill Taylor combined rich materials with classically tailored furnishings, elegant finishes, architectural millwork and an extensive art collection to achieve an aesthetic distinctly Hyde Park – luxurious yet intimate, reminiscent of the neighbourhood’s historic townhouses.

Inspired by the prevalence of gospel music in the local area, the reception lobby features sinuous forms and a warm colour palette with the focal point being a large chandelier made of an 18-ft long brass tube twisting and curving, almost to the sound of music. The interior design of the bar area is inspired by the scientific discoveries of last centuries, manifesting in metals, geometric motifs and light pieces in the space. 20th-century literary figures influence the décor of the restaurant. Imagined as the dining room of an author, the restaurant has bookshelves carved into columns that partition different seating areas.

For the hotel interior design of Firmdale Hotels’ second New York property, Stonehill Taylor designed a new, 97,000 square foot building in Midtown Manhattan featuring interiors by Firmdale co-owner and visionary designer, Kit Kemp.

Several suite balconies and terraces lend the 18-story building a distinctive shape that gradually scales back as the building rises. With over 20,000 sf of amenity spaces, the program includes the Drawing Room, The Orangery, and a Dolby-certified theatre and function space.

As Interior Designer, Stonehill Taylor worked on the conversion of a historic building located in Portland, ME into the new four-star Press Hotel, part of the boutique Marriott Autograph Collection.

The hotel interior design serves as a showcase for Portland’s emerging artistic expression. The lobby lounges, a dedicated gallery space, meeting rooms, and guestrooms all showcase art from hand-picked local artists, and millwork and installation art pieces were made in conjunction with art professors and students from the local university. With LEED Silver Certification, the conversion plans were historically sensitive, energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.

The Refinery Hotel was originally built in 1912 to house high-end retail and tea salon on the first floor and various factories, predominantly hat making, on the upper floors.

The new hotel interior design reinterprets the neo-gothic details with features such as the lobby’s manufactured white plaster groin-vaulted ceilings and the warm wood used throughout the bar, Winnie’s Tea Lounge, and the reception area. The guestrooms emanate the original hat-making factories with the use of concrete ceilings, distressed hardwood floors, sewing machine inspired desks, and other factory inspired FF&E.

The expansive rooftop bar provides a year-round rooftop hangout with three sections: indoor, indoor-outdoor, and outdoor. The main feature is the ceiling of the indoor lounge space, which was made with wood salvaged from the dismantled water tank previously at the top of the building.
