The outstanding Post Oak is Houston’s new premier destination for luxury hotel design. Inspirations and Ideas will amuse you with a quick view to this spectacular hotel, office and residential tower, a ballroom and related restaurants that are part of Tilman Fertitta’s proposed project off the West Loop called The Post Oak.
The 250-room hotel — with an exterior made of limestone, granite, and marble — is poised to be the crown jewel of the 10-acre mixed-use project called The Post Oak at Uptown, restaurants, retail, office and events space and more. The hotel’s home is a 38-story tower that also will eventually have residential, retail and restaurant space.

The luxury hotel design campus already includes a Rolls-Royce showroom, a Bugatti and Bentley dealership, as well as two spare-no-expense restaurants, Mastro’s Steakhouse and the relocated seafood-savvy Willie G’s. The Houston office of San Francisco-based Gensler was the architect and Houston-based Tellepsen was the general contractor.
Upon entering at the luxury hotel design the three-story glass lobby, guests will be mesmerized by a grand chandelier inspired by the DubaiOpera House. The mesmerizing open plaza, with outdoor dining patios, captive the guest attention while the dazzling lobby with art by iconic American artist Frank Stella, and lushly landscaped pedestrian areas filled with beautiful oak trees enhance all the visitors.
The luxury hotel design lobby, with custom Calcutta marble flooring, Ebony Woodridge stone pillars, custom fabric wall panels, a hand-tufted silk abstract rug, and so many spectacular works of art from Frank Stella that it is affectionately dubbed the “Stella Lobby,” also provides a spectacular view of the posh pool area through massive floor-to-ceiling windows.

The complex includes walkable streets shaded by mature oak trees and has access to the surrounding neighborhoods at several points. The 38-story luxury hotel design tower showcases unique features as a two-level Rolls Royce dealership and over 250 luxury hotel rooms, boutique office space, residential apartment units, all with dramatic interior finishes and unobstructed views of the surrounding neighborhoods and Downtown.

On the third floor, there is a mezzanine that overlooks the lobby with custom ornamental metal ribbons on the railings. The mezzanine’s walls are filled with custom fabric panels with abstract images of falling leaves inspired by The Post Oak name. The fabric panels were done by Houston-based Architectural Fabric Systems, according to a spokesperson for AFS.
Four restaurants and bars on the first floor provide a wide array of dining choices, from fresh-baked pastries to haute cuisine. In addition to The Post Oak tower eateries, two highly celebrated restaurants enhance the development Mastro’s Steakhouse – that makes its Texas debut in Houston – and Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks, a Houston institution and favorite seafood restaurant for more than 35-years.
