8. Sofitel Singapore City Centre-Singapore
At the proverbial intersection of two picturesque, historical areas you’ll find the Sofitel Singapore City Centre. The grandeur of the Champs-Elysees meets the cultural authenticity of Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar district for a result that is both majestic and timeless. Hanging in the lobby is a centrepiece composed of crystal “leaves” the Plane Tree (Platanus) leaves of Paris and the native Tembusu leaf—symbols of the relationship between the two cities: Paris and Singapore.
Work created by local artists was used throughout the hotel interior design. Canvases featured in the guestrooms were scanned and printed from a custom hand-painted piece, and vases and sculptures in public areas were created by a local ceramic artist.
9. Swissôtel The Stamford- Singapore
The renovated guest rooms of Swissôtel The Stamford channel the Swiss lifestyle of effortless innovation and simplicity. Details were of the utmost importance in this hotel interior design project, as each piece was created to work as efficiently and accurately as the dials of a Swiss watch.
Throughout the room, interpretations of the Swiss Cross can be found in details like stitchings, bookshelves, robe hooks, door pulls, artwork and wall details. The local flavour is accentuated through the artwork, which subtly weaves Singaporean and Swiss subjects into a continuous narrative.

Welcoming seating groups and the spiralling curve of the grand staircase draw the eye upward to the higher levels of the atrium. Space progressively decompresses as the atrium’s height is revealed. The warmer ambience of the timber-panelled areas serves to pull the guest into the concierge and reception areas on the left of the main entrance.
