1. THE RITZ-CARLTON- CHICAGO, USA
Inspired by its iconic address that unites the city, lake, and sky, the refashioning of the Ritz-Carlton, Chicago takes cues from Chicago’s heritage of architecture, forward-thinking design, and industrial innovation.
The focal point of the main lobby designed by BAMO is the Flying Wave, a stunning floating sculpture made from four types of hand-blown glass in blue tones reminiscent of Lake Michigan. Soaring 19 foot quarter figured American Walnut “fins” and sleek solar grey marble columns, inspired by the exterior of the building, the hotel interior design celebrate the verticality of the space.
2. Chileno Bay Resort & Residences- Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Chileno Bay Resort, by Auberge Resorts Collection, is the ultimate in laid-back luxury. Inspiration was taken from the idyllic location, designing a palette that complements the natural environment and contemporary architecture that maximizes the ocean front views and indoor/outdoor living.
The hotel interior design from BAMO is decidedly modern, a departure from the more traditional, Hacienda-style properties in the area. Modern spaces flow one into the next, with marble flooring balanced by warm wood ceilings above. Stone walls become architectural features, with soft white plaster completing the interior envelope.
3. FOUR SEASONS RESORT- DUBAI, UAE
BAMO embarked on Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. The building’s exterior is Andalusian, the Spanish Islamic style familiar within the region. Stepping inside the hotel, subtle references remain, with BAMO beautifully transforming traditional forms in a contemporary way.
Finely appointed details can be seen throughout. Highlights include a palatial lobby with a soaring 10-meter ceiling, lobby rotunda with an octagonal silver-leafed dome, grand stair with cascading Venetian glass chandelier, and spa with mosaic dome punctuated by rays of light. The hotel interior design soft color palette pays homage to the resort’s waterfront setting.
4. ROSEWOOD SAND HILL- California, USA
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, the hotel interior design of the hotel are classic Northern California. The design team mixed European elegance and tradition with casual, indoor/outdoor verve to create a comfortable and stylish retreat. Soothing neutral hues are complemented by rich wood tones of walnut, cherry, and cedar, which are integrated into architectural details and selected furniture pieces. Throughout the hotel are contemporary works by several accomplished artists including Rex Ray, Nathan Oliveira, and Jim Isermann.
BAMO the reception, library lounge, bar, Michelin-starred Madera restaurant, banquet facilities, spa, guest rooms, and suites.
5. GALLERIA PARK HOTEL- California, USA
BAMO drew inspiration from the building’s charming, historic character when reimagining the Galleria Park Hotel, pulling elements from across eras in which the hotel has existed. Venetian blinds nodding to the 1930s, custom mid-century light fixtures, and a contemporary Parsons-style desk all infuse a layered, residential feel to guestrooms, while pointillist irregular dot wallpaper, painterly expressionist carpeting, marble-topped desks, and “splattered” antiqued mirrored surfaces add sophisticated glamour. The serene hotel interior design palette is accented by colorful, contemporary works of art by BAMO
6. GRAND HOTEL- Gargnano, Italy
Legendary hotelier Bob Burns hired BAMO to transform a derelict 1892 neo-Gothic castle on Lake Garda into a sumptuous 21-room hotel. BAMO was retained by Mr. Burns to oversee the hotel interior design of “everything the guest might see” and think creatively about the property as a whole.
This included space planning (including determining the number of guestrooms and adjacency of spaces), interior architecture, furnishings, lighting, artwork, graphics, tableware, linens, building colors, landscaping, swimming pool, even the hotel’s private boat, La Contessa.
7. NEW YORK PALACE HOTEL- NYC, USA
The iconic New York Palace Hotel by BAMO, which includes the historic 1880’s Villard Mansion, as well as a modern, 55-story glass tower, is located just steps away from St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan.
BAMO created an expanded VIP Tower Lobby and refreshed guestrooms and suites within the tower and main house. The hotel interior design is quietly sophisticated with a mix of periods and styles. Within the guestrooms, the view becomes the focus with soft, simple drapery and furniture placement.
8. FOUR SEASONS HOTEL- BOSTON, USA
Facing an increasingly competitive market, Four Seasons Hotel Boston embarked on its first major renovation since the hotel opened in 1985. BAMO was hired to breathe new life into the much-beloved property, creating a hotel interior design that would appeal to the hotel’s sophisticated clientele spellbound by Boston’s old-world charm.
BAMO interior design team created a fresh, upscale and timeless lobby while expanding and renovating the existing food & beverage outlets and meeting spaces. The project also included designing the region’s best and most dramatic Presidential Suite and upgrading the guestrooms with the latest technology without losing the traditional aesthetic expected by guests.
9. FOUR SEASONS RESORT BORA BORA- Bora Bora, French Polynesia
BAMO’s design of Four Seasons Bora Bora honors its stunning locale, as well as its cultural context. The orientation of buildings and framing of windows emphasize the island views. The hotel interior design rooms are designed to take advantage of the natural cross ventilation, thus reducing the need for air conditioning. Simple shapes and quiet interior colors allow the visual focus to remain on the brilliant blue of the surrounding ocean.
10.THE PENINSULA CHICAGO- Chicago, USA
Light and warmth permeate The Peninsula Chicago’s interiors. Art Deco in style, public spaces throughout are gracefully proportioned. Rich gold, cream, and brown tones are layered in a sophisticated palette that reflects the locale while also paying subtle homage to Peninsula’s flagship property in Hong Kong.
