THE WESTIN NANCHANG HOTEL (Nanchang, China)
The atrium embodies the hotel’s unique design offering a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Chinese courtyard house. The siheyuan historically has represented the collective, mercantile essence of Jiangxi’s people by serving as the focus for trade and the exchange of ideas. HOK’s design features fine art displays showcasing contemporary interpretations of traditional crafts such as ceramics and carved jade sculptures. This infuses the space with a sense of place.
