International Design Excellence Awards, also known as IDEA is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. The awards recognize both residential and commercial projects as well as a restaurant and public spaces divided into a wide range of categories.
We are presenting you the winner of Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design, the Belmond Cadogan London, created by G.A Group. If you wish to see the rest of the winners in all categories, click here.
Once the favored haunt of actress and socialite Lillie Langtry, and of Oscar Wilde, who was infamously arrested in room 118, the hotel has had a rich and illustrious past ever since it was built in 1887.
Re-opening in March having undergone a complete transformation to restore the unique heritage of the site, the interiors have now been renovated in a style that is at once contemporary and reflective of the building’s history, with surprising details alluding to the people who shaped its past.
The hotel’s 54 rooms and suites provide a stylish retreat in the heart of the city, with spacious rooms that are a little ‘house’ in themselves; many have views over Cadogan Place Gardens and offer spacious living rooms with working fireplaces, handcrafted in-room bars, dining areas as well as large bathrooms with deep freestanding baths and a specially designed champagne and book holder for some ‘me time’.
