Reimagining the hotel\u2019s former accounting office as an intimate bar and lounge, Champalimaud\u2019s 2E<\/span> at the Pierre immediately became a beloved fixture of its neighborhood.\u00a0In keeping with Champalimaud\u2019s redesign of the adjacent public spaces, 2E<\/span> restaurant interior design<\/strong> strikes a balance between history and modernity<\/em>. An illuminated, Art Deco-style copper bar centers the space, artfully enhancing the room\u2019s classic<\/em> columns and ceiling.<\/p>\n

Topping Rose House:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Bridgehampton, New York<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Topping Rose House<\/span>\u00a0Champalimaud created a modern interior design for a<\/em>\u00a0welcoming restaurant space at the heart of the historic 1842 estate, now transformed into a full-service destination inn.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Colicchio\u2019s farm-to-table culinary philosophy, the 50-seat restaurant has wide-planked wood floors, black lacquered Windsor chairs, and milk glass and iron drum pendants that recall early American style and craftsmanship<\/em>. Minimalist, high bar chairs in calfskin complement the elegant<\/em>, dark wood bar and leather barrel chairs, and wooden tables invite comfortable lounging next to two original fireplaces.<\/p>\n

Rotisserie Georgette<\/em>: New York, New York<\/strong><\/p>\n

R\u00f4tisserie Georgette<\/span> offers contemporary comfort food with a French accent on Manhattan\u2019s Upper East Side. Champalimaud balanced casual ease and sophistication by mixing rough-hewn and refined elements in view of the partly open kitchen, whose window is surrounded by an entire wall of hand-painted<\/em> blue and white Portuguese tile.\u00a0At the bar, a sleek grey stone top and antique wrought iron gates set the backdrop for artisanal cocktails and a refined, comfortable atmosphere inside an inspiring modern restaurant interior design<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Tocqueville<\/em>: New York, New York<\/strong><\/p>\n

When beloved Tocqueville Restaurant<\/span> outgrew its initial home, husband-and-wife restaurateurs, Marco Moreira and Jo-Ann Makovitzky sought out Champalimaud to design their new modern interior design<\/em> eatery. Guests enter through an intimate lounge with smoked mirrors and a wenge and onyx bar into a dramatic and soaring main dining room.\u00a0The space is serene and romantic allowing guests to focus on their companions and the cuisine.<\/p>\n

Library Bar<\/em>: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Library Bar<\/span>, an intimate gathering place inside the landmark Rittenhouse Hotel, is named for its carefully curated collection of books and fine art.\u00a0A sophisticated<\/em> cocktail destination for travelers and local businesspeople, the 20-seat bar is designed to balance old and new elements to create a setting that is sleek but with a patina that evokes the property\u2019s history and location. Mid-century furniture<\/strong> and modern patterns create a elegant atmosphere for a sophisticated taste.<\/p>\n

Waldorf Astoria<\/em>: Chengdu, China<\/strong><\/p>\n

For a greatly anticipated renovation of the flagship Waldorf Astoria<\/span>, New York City\u2019s first luxury hotel, Champalimaud drew inspiration from its brilliant Art Deco origins.<\/p>\n

Signature plaster surfaces and bas-relief textures by Champalimaud grace the walls, respectfully honoring the property\u2019s elegant original craftsmanship<\/em>. Furnishings and Champalimaud-designed light fixtures and design decisions echo the original Art Deco style, and Lalique-inspired pattern light panels give the space a warm glow and add a finishing touch to the luxury interior design<\/strong> of the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Crush Bar<\/em>: Hartford, Connecticut\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Champalimaud completed the interior design for the Hartford Marriott, part of an ambitious waterfront revitalization aimed at bringing people back into the heart of the city.<\/p>\n

At the hotel\u2019s center, Champalimaud created Crush, a sophisticated, contemporary<\/strong> lounge with a warm interior that appeals to the city\u2019s residents and business travelers alike. White leather banquettes and black onyx tables, illuminated by large circular chandeliers, line the bar\u2019s wood-paneled interior and create a modern interior design<\/em> space that is intimate and social.<\/p>\n

360<\/em>: Stockholm, Sweden<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a part of Champalimaud\u2019s renovation The Sheraton Stockholm for The Blackstone Group, Champalimaud created the highly successful 360\u00b0 Restaurant and Bar<\/span>.\u00a0 This 1970s hotel in the center of a medieval city lent itself to a clean, contemporary<\/strong>, distinctly Scandinavian design.\u00a0 With 160 seats, 360 operates as a three-meal modern interior restaurant<\/em>, transforming into an evening gathering place where guests and locals meet.<\/p>\n

The Gainsborough Hotel<\/em>: Bath, United Kingdom\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new 100-room Gainsborough Hotel<\/span> is a conversion of a 19th Century Royal Hospital in the heart of the City and features unique, direct access to Bath\u2019s thermal waters through three therapeutic pools.\u00a0During construction of the 14,000-square-foot Spa Village baths, ancient mosaics were uncovered and became a modern restaurant interior design<\/span> inspiration.
