We have wonderful news for young designers<\/strong><\/em> who have been looking forward to entering their work into Milan Design Week 2019<\/strong><\/em><\/a>: there is more than one open call for new talents. Today we\u2019re gonna tell you about some of them.<\/p>\n

Cascina Cuccagna<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The first example is from Cascina Cuccagna<\/strong>, specifically from designer\u00a0Matteo Ragni <\/b>who announced a new edition of\u00a0De Rerum Natura<\/i><\/b>. In this edition of the initiative architects, young designers and other artists from several fields are being invited to an event dedicated to the Renaissance period in celebration of Leonardo DaVinci<\/strong>\u2018s 500th anniversary of death.<\/p>\n

With this open call, Ragni expects to invite many design enthusiasts\u00a0to a reflection of contemporary design\u2019s role in establishing a new harmony between man and nature and investigate a sustainable future to originate \u201ca new Renaissance\u201d. In order to do that a series of projects by young designers will be selected\u00a0Matteo Ragni, while at the same time journalist Laura Traldi<\/strong> will be preparing the exposition \u201cDesign Collisions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Milan Design Market<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"Open<\/a><\/p>\n

Another project with open calls to young designers is from Milan Design Market<\/strong>, or more exactly Elif Resitoglu<\/strong>\u2018s project\u00a0Find The Lost City. <\/strong><\/em>This initiative, currently at its fourth edition intends to reunite young designers and brands around that same theme. The participants can enter in two options: either exposing their individual projects at the\u00a0Pop-Up Concept Store<\/strong> or showing their\u00a0collection inside individual cabins. These projects will remain active even after the end of\u00a0Fuorisalone <\/strong><\/a>and can be consulted in Milan Design Market\u2019s online store.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ro Plastic Prize<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lastly, another call for young designers which is still open right now is the contest\u00a0Ro Plastic Prize<\/strong><\/em>. This is an open contest to every designer regardless of experience or age, inviting the participants to\u00a0find a way around the problem of plastic overproduction thereby challenging artists to promote the next generation of design.<\/p>\n

The contest is divided into the categories of\u00a0Design, Home Textiles, Packaging Solutions, and Conscious\u00a0Innovation Projects. Until\u00a0March 10th all interested young designers can submit their project to this initiative and the projects which are considered the best in every category will then be\u00a0presented\u00a0at\u00a0Galleria Rossana Orlandi<\/strong> during Milan Design Week\u00a02019<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n
