The Manzoni<\/strong> <\/em>is the new 100-cover restaurant has been created by Tom Dixon<\/em><\/span>\u2019s Design Research Studio<\/strong>. Its pre-opening is set to happen during Milan Design Week<\/strong><\/a>, revealing both a restaurant and a showroom.<\/p>\n

The main reason behind the opening of this new restaurant was due to the fact that Tom Dixon and his team wanted to have a more permanent presence in Milan<\/a>. Tred of the temporary expositions, they decided to take the chance in opening\u00a0The Manzoni. In Dixon\u2019s own words:<\/p>\n

\u201c(\u2026) We need a place where people slow down and experience our products in a live setting. There is nothing dustier than conventional lighting and furniture showroom. But with The Manzoni, people are able to experience our new collections in an active context.(\u2026)\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

During the opening of this new restaurant and showroom, Tom Dixon will be showing off three specific new collections: Fat, Spring, and Opal.<\/p>\n

The first one will be available as a dining chair, high stool and lounge chair. The collection\u2019s pieces were manufactured in Europe, made from molded foam with a metal leg launching in high gloss black lacquer made to order upholstery. The chair specifically is designed to allow for multiple sitting positions.<\/p>\n

\"Tom<\/a><\/p>\n

The second collection of Tom Dixon is a series of three pendant lamps made up of stainless-steel strips. A special feature of these three lamps is the fact that they had pliant ribbons of stainless steel arranged like a whisk around the brand\u2019s LED, and can be easily adjusted to a variety of silhouettes.<\/p>\n

\"Tom<\/a><\/p>\n

Lastly, Opal will consist of two pendant lights, two-floor lights, and a surface light, all of them made with lighting translucent globes made of tinted white Opalescent polycarbonate. These lamps have a ghostly sense to them both in daytime and nighttime, emitting \u201ca soft, diffused and flattering light\u201d. Tom Dixon\u2019s project must be followed.<\/p>\n
